Craft Cluster is an initiative by National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi, where the students go to small, craft-rich villages of India to learn more about the local crafts practiced there.
This is was the display done for the presentation based on this project.
The main display is inspired from the punch cards used to create the designs in Jala looms used in Mubarakpur, put in manner to make the famous paisley motif.
The beautiful sarees made by extremely skilled weavers of Mubarakpur were also displayed.
The equipment used in Mubarakpur in the process of weaving were also a part of the dislay.
An 'Adda", which is a wooden stand with iron rods, a shuttle and many bobbin filled with beautiful silk and zari yarns.
